Eight Palestinians killed and 40 injured during Hamas Commander assassination in Gaza City

🔹 Soon after intelligence was received by Israeli Southern Command and Military Intelligence services regarding Izz al-Din al-Haddad’s whereabouts, Israeli forces launched fighter jets to strike, made possible due to years of surveillance and significant intelligence gathering carried out by IDF intelligence agencies.

🔹 Haddad was the most senior commander in Hamas and the last remaining senior Hamas Leader in the Gaza Strip, who was among the masterminds of the October 7 massacre, Israeli media reported, stating that Haddad joined Hamas’s military wing during the organisation’s founding period.

🔹 Throughout the war, Haddad allegedly moved between numerous hiding places, with claims that he was heavily involved in the hostage network in Gaza, deliberately surrounding himself with hostages, including the female Nahal Oz observers, in order to avoid IDF strikes.

🔹 According to the reports, Hamas, under Haddad’s command, allegedly starved, abused and murdered hostages – claiming it was done to protect his personal identity and to ensure the survival of Hamas.

🔹 During the attack, at least 8 Palestinians were killed and more than 40 others were injured, as the strike targeted the Al-Mu’taz building in the Rimal neighbourhood of Gaza City.

🔹 A vehicle in which 4 assistants of Haddad were using to attempt an escape from the scene on Al-Wahda Street in Gaza City was also targeted by Israeli forces using a drone and burned at the scene.

🔹 The Prime Minister’s Officer released a statement saying that under the orders of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz, the IDF was attacking in Gaza the ‘chief of the murders, Izz ad-Din al-Haddad.’

🔹 Israel’s army went on high alert after the assassination, according to Sama News Agency, claiming that the ground, naval, and air units had been prepared for any reaction from Palestinian resistance.
