Netanyahu says the IDF now controls 60% of Gaza

🔹 Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, stated that Israeli forces are currently controlling 60% of the Gaza Strip, which indicates that military presence has expanded into Palestinian territory further beyond what was outlined in an October ‘ceasefire’ agreement.

🔹 “In the past two years we have shown the entire world what mighty forces are embedded in our people, in our state, in our army, in our heritage,” Netanyahu said on Thursday during a ‘Jerusalem Day’ event.

🔹 He continued: “We brought back home all our hostages, up to the last one,” adding: “There were those who said get out, get out, but we did not get out – today we control 60%, tomorrow, we shall see,” warning that Israel could potentially look to control more in the future.

🔹 Under the US-brokered ceasefire, Israeli forces were expected to withdraw to the Yellow Line in Gaza, but Netanyahu’s remarks marked the first official confirmation that the military footprint has expanded, following recent reports that Israeli troops had advanced towards a new “Orange Line.”
