Chernihiv situational update for January 26

Russian troops attacked the border communities of Novgorod-Siverska, Semenivska and Snovsk, as a total of 11 settlements came under fire, reported the spokeswoman of the Chernihiv Border Guard Unit Halyna Shekhovtsova.

Three explosions were recorded as FPV drones in Krasny Khutor, as well as another three in Dibrova in the Novgorod-Siversy community, while three explosions from Lightning drones and four explosions from FPV drones were recorded in the Semenivska community.

Also in the Seminivska community were six explosions from FPV drones in Logs, one explosion from an FPV arrival in Sergiyevskoye, one explosion in Oleksandrivka, two explosions (likely from 120mm mortal shells) and two more (likely from FPV drones) in Leonivka.

Six artillery explosions were recorded in the Karpovichi settlement of the Semenivska community, as well as four from FPV drones in Medvedivka, and one explosion in Zorya from the arrival of an FPV drone.

An explosion also occurred in the Guta-Stedenetska settlement of the Snov community which was likely related to the arrival of an FPV drone.

Overnight, Russia destroyed an administrative building and damaged a tractor using a Geran-2 to attack a cooperative in the Chernihiv district, reported the Head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration Vyacheslav Chaus.

Due to power outages at one of the traction substations, trolleybuses are being changed or are not operating in the city, but other electric transport routes were operating normally.

Chaus recorded a total of 42 shellings and 56 explosions within 24 hours in the Chernihiv region.
