Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassam released a statement yesterday, stating that Hezbollah did not respond to Israel’s repeated attacks so as not to be accused of hindering diplomacy, but their patience had its limits, and the Israeli enemy’s persistence had become excessive.
“We have repeatedly said that Israel wants to expand, and Netanyahu has said that he wants a ‘Greater Israel,’” Qassam said, continuing: “Israel represents an existential threat to us, to our people, to our country, and to the entire region – the problem is not with Hezbollah’s weapons, but with the occupation and the violation of permanent sovereignty.
“These rockets are a response to 15 months of violations, they are also a response to the violations including the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
“Instead of confronting and condemning Israel and American aggression and seeking ways to respond, the Lebanese government turned to the resistance to continue its sin and align with Israeli demands.”
