Russia Regional Recap and Damage Report up to October 29th

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that 231 drones were shot down near Moscow by morning, while a total of 613 were flying towards the capital and the Moscow Region since October 28th, with most of them shot down by air defence forces.

Rosaviatsiya reported restrictions to flights at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports, which were lifted at around 7am.

Tula Region’s governor reported that air defences had destroyed 42 drones over the region, and debris falls hadn’t caused any damage or casualties.

Another 170 drones were destroyed over the course of the past 24 hours in the Kaluga Region, according to the regional governor.

Ukraine launched a record 1,214 drones over Russian regions overnight, one of the largest this year, according to calculations by TASS based on data from the Russian Ministry of Defence.

Russia’ Ministry of Defence reported striking a cargo ship in the Black Sea that was reportedly delivering military supplies and dual-use goods to the port of Odesa.

Yesterday, Russian forces struck a cargo of military and dual-use purposes, allegedly meant for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), as well as a dry cargo ship allegedly delivering dual-purpose goods intended for the UAF at the port of Chornomorsk.

Drones reportedly targeted the 330kV substation ‘Lutsk-Severnaya’ in Lutsk and the 330kV substation in Kovel, Volyn region, which is claimed to ensure the operation of military industrial enterprises producing drones and their components, as well as logistics centres used for storing military equipment.

The sirens sounded around 6:30am in Perm itself, and shortly after, the evacuation was announced, with classes suspended at Perm State University until the drone threat was listed, while the first classes were also postponed at the Perm National Research Polytechnic University.

➡️ Republic of Bashkortostan: Ukrainian long-range drones attacked the ‘Bashkir Soda Company’ in the city of Sterlitamak, resulting in a large fire breaking out that continued to grow.

The Bashkir Soda Company specialises in the production of sodium carbonate and food-grade soda, which is used by enterprises affiliated with the Russian Ministry of Defence to produce components for military equipment, including body armour, helmets, and armoured protection elements for military equipment and aviation.

➡️ Volgograd Region: NASA FIRMS reportedly indicated that a large fire was burning at the Marinovka Airbase in Volgograd Oblast following overnight Ukrainian mid-range drone strikes.

Marinovka Airbase is home to Su-24 and Su-34 aircraft, and has been hit by Ukrainian drones in the past, damaging and destroying four Su-34s.

➡️ Luhansk Region: Ukraine continued their large-scale mid-range strike campaign against the Russian-occupied Luhansk region overnight, striking two different targets in Luhansk city centre, near Hospital No. 7 and a parking lot near the central market, as well as in the suburbs of Luhansk city, possibly striking a substation, as power outages occurred across almost all of southern Luhansk.

150,000 people were left without electricity following the Ukrainian strikes, reported the Russian-appointed Governor Leonid Pasechnik, noting that Ukraine had targeted the energy infrastructure, and as a result, emergency power outages occurred in six municipalities, while temporary disruptions to supply are possible in a number of other districts.
