Pentagon officials published the names of those who were killed in the opening days of the Iran war, initially naming:
Captain Cody A. Khork, aged 35, of Winter Haven, Florida;

Sergeant 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, aged 52, of Bellevue, Nebraska;

Sergeant 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, aged 39, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota

Sergeant Declan J. Coady, aged 20, of West Demoins, Iowa.

The soldiers died on March 1, 2026, in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, as a result of an Iran drone attack, and they were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command, Des Moines, Iowa.
According to the Pentagon on March 4, the last two remaining US Reserve Soldiers had been identified as:
Major Jeffrey R. O’Brien, 45, of Indianola;

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M. Marzan, 54, of Sacramento, California – positive identification will be completed by the medical examiner.
