RESIDENTS KILLED AND INJURED IN CHUVASHIA, RUSSIA

🔹Ukrainian drones attacked Cheboksary last night, resulting in two people being killed and another fourteen injured, as the residents of Chuvashia’s capital city reported numerous explosions, while the Deputy Prime Minister of the Chuvashia government Vladimir Stepaniv announced that there had been several casualties.

🔹Head of Chuvashia Oleg Nikolayev confirmed the attack and number of victims, adding that: “Our emergency services worked as quickly and professionally as possible. The fire that occurred was localised and completely extinguished in the shortest possible time, which allowed to prevent its further spread and avoid more serious consequences.”

🔹One local resident of Yakoleva Street who had suffered only minor injuries despite his apartment being partially destroyed, told of how two drones had hit their home sending the corpses of the two residents of the property flying through the air.

🔹Eyewitnesses and recorded evidence showed damage to a multi-story building at 6 Yakovleva Street, according to analysts, in the area of the JSC VNIIR-Progress enterprise at 4 Yakovleva Street, approximately 450 metres away.

🔹VNIIR-Progress produces Comet antennas for the Russian army which protect Russian drones from electronic warfare systems, however, ironically it appeared as if Russian air defence systems actually crashed into garage complexes in the city, as captured in footage sent to ExileNova.

🔹Ukraine’s armed forces had previously attacked the enterprise on November 26, according to the General Staff of Ukraine, who noted at the time how the plant was engaged in the production of satellite GNSS receivers and antennas for Glonass, GPS and Galileo modules of the Comet type, which are used in Shahed drones, as well as in missiles of the Iskander-M and Kalibr systems, as well as UMPK modules for aerial bombs.

🔹VNIIR-Progress had suspended work following attacks on the enterprise on June 9, which was subsequently attacked on July 5, which means this latest attack was likely as a result of completed repairs and potential manufacturing again at the plant.

🔹Although local residents reported at least seven drones attacking Cheboksary, there weren’t any confirmation of any drones in the morning’s Ministry of Defence report, probably because the services were still trying to ascertain whether the results of the attack were due to friendly fire or as the result of Russia’s own electronic warfare systems.

🔹Footage captured by another resident from nearby Komsomol Street appeared to show a missile heading from right to left and dropping to the left of the camera, however an explosion then resulted just to the right, which couldn’t have been the same munition dropping, and was either likely the same friendly fire that was recorded from another angle by the previous ExileNova witness, or it was a second incident of friendly fire by Russian air defences.
