⚡️ Officials, politicians and political parties blasted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday night, after planned attacks announced throughout the day on Monday were called off as a result of a phone call between the PM and President Trump.
🔹 Israel Beiteinu party responded by saying: “This is not a prime minister, this is a puppet!”
🔹 The opposition leader Yair Lapid attacked the government with a simple comment: “A full liquidation state”
🔹 Chairman of the Yachad party, Naftali Bennet, joined the attack saying: “Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, Lebanon, Gaza – the location is different, the story the same – a government that has lost control over Israeli sovereignty.”
🔹 Meanwhile, Chairman of the Israel Beiteinu party, MK Lieberman, said: “It is unacceptable that the northern part of the country is under heavy shelling for days,” adding: “Soldiers are injured, killed, and the Prime Minister of Israel is waiting for approval to bomb in Dahieh.”
🔹 Chairman of the Yashar Party Gadi Eisenkot said: “There’s never been a Prime Minister in Israel who accepted such an unreasonable demand in surrender, Netanyahu is harming Israel’s national interests out of weakness.”
🔹 Al-Jazeera were told by a Qatari diplomatic source that the Qataris had been mediating since Sunday to help establish a ceasefire in Lebanon, and had contacted the American side on Sunday night to reduce the escalation in southern Lebanon on Monday, due to the threats to attack Dahieh, adding that Washington informed Qatar that attacks in Dahieh were cancelled after Trump’s conversation with Netanyahu.
🔹 President Trump published on Truth Social: “I had a very productive call with Prime Minister Bibi, of Israel, and there will be no troops going to Beirut, and any troops that are on their way, have already been turned back,” adding that through highly placed representatives, Trump also spoke with Hezbollah, who agreed that all the shooting would stop – Israel will not attack Hezbollah, and Hezbollah will not attack Israel.
🔹 Hezbollah MP Hassan Ezzeddine said the group would uphold the ceasefire with Israel once Israeli military operations cease and Israeli forces withdraw from what he described as ‘occupied Lebanese territory,’ adding: “We reserve the right to resist, it is important that there is an American decision that will oblige the enemy to cease hostile actions,” and also said Iran was supporting Lebanon but wouldn’t negotiate on its behalf.
🔹 Prime Minister Netanyahu said after his conversation with Trump: “I spoke tonight with President Trump and told him if Hezbollah does not stop attacking our cities and citizens – Israel will strike terror targets in Beirut,” adding that their position remained unchanged: “Meanwhile, the IDF will continue to operate as planned in southern Lebanon.”
