After the recent scandals from Primorsky Krai, in which conscripts on a train were forced to sign contracts, as well as those on a dark bus that were told they were signing to accept military uniforms, while some cases where contracts have been signed without the conscripts knowledge, and other times where there is no signature at all, many would have thought lessons had been learned.
Clearly not though, because in the Samara region, the payment for recruiting contractors for the war in Ukraine has been increased to 500 thousand rubles, an increase of fivefold, which is paid for recruiting contractors for the war against Ukraine – the government of the region even drew attention to a press release from the 7×7 publication.
According to the press release, ‘any resident of Russia’ can claim the payment, however, the increased payment of half a million rubles will only apply to the recruitment of residents from other regions – the payment for attracting contractors from the Samara region will remain at 100 thousand Rubles.
In the Baskir city of Sterlitamak, in turn, local deputies at the beginning of February set a payment of 400 thousand rubles for recruiting new contractors, and the payment is to be assigned by a special commission.
However, according to media reports, Perm authorities have kept the suspension which they placed last year, suspending payments of 100 thousand rubles when signing a contract for the war in Ukraine.
“Indeed, this payment has been suspended – at the same time, various social support measures for participants of the Special Military Operation and their families are being maintained and implemented,” stated a representative of the Perm City Hall.
According to calculations of Idel Reality, at least 3,374 natives of the Samara region have already died in the region.
Bashkiria, in turn, is the leader in the number of identified dead in Russia as a whole, because the war has claimed the lives of at least 9,047 military personnel from the republic.
