Israeli pilots arrested and charged with espionage offences

Two Israeli F-15 crew members were arrested and charged with attempting to pass sensitive information about the planes to Iran, reported Kan News.

According to Kan News, the suspects worked as F-15 technicians at Tel Nof Airbase near Ashdod were detained for weeks and are now set to be prosecuted, accused of ‘assisting the enemy during wartime’ with one potentially facing charges amounting to treasion.

Eight other soldiers are also under investigation for knowing about the activities but failing to report them to the relevant authorities.

Israeli Army Radio later reported that new details in the case involved one of the Air Force members being requested to assassinate the Commander of the Air Force Major General Tomer Bar, with the soldier allegedly replying that he would ‘check and try.’

The Iranians also allegedly requested photographs of the streets where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Premier Naftali Bennet, Minister Ben Gvir and former chief of staff Herzli Halevi lived, as well as images of Iron Dome batteries and air defence systems, claiming the contact lasted a full year, and when asked what monthly salary would satisfy the soldier, the reply was allegedly $1,300 per month.

IAR claimed the soldier passed information on fighter jet systems taken from a training binder, photographed a control tower and a fighter jet, but received no payment because the Iranians allegedly told the service man it wasn’t enough and allegedly demanded a photo of a jet taking off.

Before Operation Am Kalavi in mid-2025, the Iranians allegedly asked the pilot to deliberately delay operational flights for a few hundred dollars, but the pilot refused.

When the Iranian handler allegedly asked the pilot to carry out a weapons attack, the soldier refused and the handler cut contact, but the soldier then allegedly tried to renew contact and search for other Iran agents, however, Israeli Army Radio claimed that Iran suspected the pilot was a double agent and didn’t respond.
