⚡️ Senior Israeli officials said that despite the escalation in Lebanon, Israel ‘cannot do what ever it wants,’ especially in Beirut, because Israel don’t want to be seen as deliberately sabotaging President Trump’s potential peace agreement with Iran.
🔹 The remarks came following IDF Chief of Staff pushing for buildings in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district to be struck in response to Hezbollah explosive drone attacks, causing widespread displacement from the district on Monday night.
🔹 According to the report, senior political officials rejected the idea of ‘randomly bringing down buildings in Beirut’ at this stage over fears it could harm ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran.
🔹 Officials said Israel still maintained ‘very significant’ freedom of action in southern Lebanon and other areas, but acknowledged operations in Beirut were far more restricted, and the issue is expected to be discussed on Tuesday night in the third security cabinet meeting in three nights, alongside the delayed US-Iran agreement and the continuation of operations in Lebanon.
