Last night Ukraine targeted multiple facilities across Russia, which included the Frolovskaya electrical substation in Volgograd, according to the regional governor.
In a statement, the governor wrote: “On the night of November 3 to 4, the air defence units of the Russian Ministry of Defence repelled a massive attack of unmanned vehicles on the territory of the Volgograd region.
“A fire was recorded at the Frolovskaya electrical substation due to the fall of debris, all necessary forces and means to eliminate the consequences have been sent to the site, and as of 23:30, there were no reports of any casualties or additional damage in the area.”
Volgograd’s substation overlooks the conversion and distribution of electrical energy between power lines of different voltage classes, and the 500 kV “Volzhskaya-Vostochynaya” line passes through it, transmitting power from the Volzhskaya KPP to the Lipetsk, Ryazan and Moscow regions.
