DONETSK MORNING REPORT – OCT 21

One person was killed in Kostiantynivka when Russia attacked the district with a FAB-250 guided bomb and heavy artillery, damaging apartment buildings and private residential houses, while damage was caused to 6 private houses when a Geran-2 drone struck Kramatorsk, according to Head of the Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin.

Druzhkivka was attacked by three Molniya-2 drones which damaged two apartment buildings and an educational institution, while a further attack on the district after midnight caused damage to two private houses, but no information was received about any casualties, and police couldn’t visit the scene due to ongoing strikes on the community.

State Emergency Services extinguished two fires that were caused by Russian strikes in Sloviansk, which included the territory of two private households, where rescuers extinguished a fire in a residential house and a garage.

In the morning the rescuers extinguished another fire that was caused by a strike on an auxiliary building that was on the premises of a local enterprise, and damage was recorded to two apartment buildings and an educational institution in Sloviansk as a result of a strike with a Molniya-2 drone.

State Emergency Services reiterate that the situation in Donetsk is extremely dangerous as the Russian attacks continue, and staying in the risk zones can cost lives, so they urge those residents still in these zones to avoid any delay and evacuate to safer areas immediately.

Another fire was reported in a utility building in the village of Naberezhne in Kremenchug, where there was a blaze in the roof which caused damage to the property and the ceiling, but the rescuers were able to extinguish the fire and save the overall building structure.

Neighbours of a resident in Pokrovsk who died on October 19 reported to Donetsk Police that they had buried the body in the yard where the resident resided, according to a report this morning by the MBA.

Over the past day the Russian army struck six settlements of the Donetsk region with KAB-250 guided aerial bombs, heavy artillery including MLRS, Geran-2 strike drones and Molniya-2 UAVs.

Entrepreneurs in the Donetsk region are due to be compensated for their losses following the Russian attack of the Sigma shopping complex, according to the Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights of the DPR, Berezhko, adding that discussions with banks were underway to launch special credit programs for those who had lost businesses.
