ATTACKS ON SUMY DAMAGE RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS AND INJURED RESIDENTS

🔹Russia launched drone attacks across the Sumy region over the previous day resulting in four people injuries, according to the Regional State Administration, noting that a 12-year-old child and a 57-year-old woman were injured due to the attacks, while a woman sought help after being injured by downed debris, while a man was also injured and hospitalised in the Krasnopil community as a result of shelling.

🔹Head of the Regional State Administration Sergei Krivosheyenko later confirmed that the 12-year-old girl who was injured had been assessed by doctors and was in a moderately severe condition, while her mother had also been admitted to hospital, however a 57-year-old man was being treated in on an outpatient basis, and a 25-year-old woman was given medical attention following an FPV drone attack which damaged a vehicle.

🔹In the early hours of the morning the Russians attacked Okhtyrka with three drones which hit an apartment building, as rescuers on call attended to the first five injured civilians encountered, all of whom had been admitted to hospital for further treatment, while further search and rescue was ongoing, reported the Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration Oleg Grigorov.

🔹An update issued a little later by Grigorov noted that another two people had been found injured and admitted to hospital, while also clarifying that the previous five admissions were being treated as outpatients, adding: “The building suffered extensive damage. Some residents, hearing the threat, managed to go down to the basement, while others were rescued from the damaged floors.”

🔹Impacts were recorded on the roof and wall of one of the apartments in the residential building, causing a fire to break out on the third floor and above, according to Oleg Strelka, a spokesperson for the SES of Ukraine in the Sumy region, clarifying that there weren’t any fatalities, as they confirmed that ten people previously reported trapped had now been rescued and the fire had been contained.

🔹Thirtyfive residents were evacuated from the damaged building because of the Russian attacks, according to the State Emergency Services, while another seven residents had been trapped and rescued from under the rubble.

🔹Grigorov confirmed all the injuries this morning, stating that a 12-year-old child and a 57-year-old man was injured due to attacks by Russian drones in the Sumy community, while a 25-year-old woman was injured during the downing of a drone.

🔹A drone strike injured a 52-year-old man in the Krasnopil community, while a 42-year-old man was injured as a result of a VOG from a drone in the Velikopisariv community, and women aged 39, 56, 58, 67, 78, as well as an 85-year-old man and a 62-year-old man were injured due to the drone attacks in Okhtyrka.
