Macron spoke about the French involvement with the Iranian situation

French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the public on what is happening with Iran, commenting that the Islamic Republic of Iran carried the responsibility for the situation due to the development of ‘a dangerous nuclear program’ and ballistic capabilities, as well as financing terrorist operations for Hezbollah in Lebanon, Houthi in Yemen, Shiite militias in America, as well as the support for Hamas in the past.

“It is the Islamic Republic of Iran that once again last January gave the order to shoot its own people,” Macron continued: “History will never shed tears over those who massacred their own people, they will not be missed.”

Macron urged: “We have clearly said that all of these strikes must stop as quickly as possible and that sustainable peace in the region can only take place if diplomatic negotiations are resumed.”

Noting defensive pacts, Macron said: “We must stand beside our friends in the region for their security and territorial integrity – defensive and protective actions will be taken – that is what makes France a credible partner.

“We have defence agreements with Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE – the last two has especially been targeted and we must stand with them – Cyprus was also struck in recent days, they ave our support as well.”

Macron stated: “This is why I have decided also to send defensive means and the Languedoc warship that will be in Cyprus this evening.”

Mentioning the Straits of Hormuz being closed, Macron noted: “That is where 20% of the liquefied natural gas and petrol in the world travels through,” adding that the Suez Canal was also threatened.

“We are now building a coalition to bring together means, including military means, to make these maritime trade routes secure,” Macron assured: “This is something that we did already in the Red Sea, and we will continue to do this now in the Straits of Hormuz.”

Macron concluded, adding: “I have given the order for the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier and its escort to travel to the Mediterranean Sea.”
