Ukraine confirm destruction of refinery in Voronezh

Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed the destruction of the Khocholskaya oil depot in the Voronezh region in their morning update.

Units of the UAF carried out a strike on the Khocholskaya oil depot in the Voronezh region, causing a fire to break out involving oil products, and thick black smoke had been observed, while the results were still being clarified, the General Staff reported.

Earlier, the Governor of the Voronezh region Alexander Gusev reported that a fire involving petroleum products had occurred during the crash of suppressed drones in the region.

“During the period of danger from drone attacks, several unmanned aerial vehicles were detected and suppressed by the on-duty air defence forces and electronic warfare means in the sky over one of the regions in the region,” reported Gusev.

Gusev continued: “There were no casualties. During the crash of the suppressed drones, an outbreak of fire involving petroleum products occurred, which has now been extinguished.”

Staff of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the firefighters involved for their selfless and effective fight against the fire were thanked by Gusev.

Local groups had comments from residents which also revealed that explosions and fires had occurred at the location of the oil depot.
