PM Netanyahu’s wife being sued yet again, after history of abuse dating back to 1996

⚡️ Israeli Prime Minister’s wife Sara Netanyahu filed a lawsuit against Yehiel Ohev Ami, who served as an housekeeper and operations assistant at the Prime Minister’s Residence starting in September 2025, and filed a lawsuit against Sara last week for workplace harassment.

🔹 Sara Netanyahu’s lawsuit alleges that as part of his work, Ohev Ami illegally filmed the interior of the residence, knowing he was breaking the law and violating the terms of his confidentiality agreement.

🔹 The lawsuit describes ‘predatory intrusion into her intimate living space, clandestine and prohibited filming inside a secure government facility, theft of information, and its use as a tool for extortion and blackmail,’ while further alleging that after Ohev Ami launched a ‘malicious revenge campaign’ after his request to return to work at the Prime Minister’s Residence was denied, according to Ynet.

🔹 Sara’s lawsuit came after 61-year-old Ohev Ami sued Sara Netanyahu for NIS 300,000 shekels ($98,000), alleging the Premier’s wife verbally and physically abused him.

🔹 The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement last week that the claims had ‘no basis’ and ‘did not reflect reality,’ saying it would provide a detailed response to all the allegations during the legal fight to come, adding that the plaintiff was fired from his job cooking and cleaning some five months ago.

🔹 According to the report, the plaintiff was demanded to wipe clean the soles of the couple’s shoes every day while making sure his hands didn’t go into the shoes by accident, and when he made small mistakes, such as failing to unload the laundry just right, Ohev Ami was allegedly subjected to a ‘torrent of screams and swearing.’

🔹 In the lawsuit, Ohev Ami claimed Sara had shoved him against the wall on three occasions, and on one occasion shouted at him: “Who’s stupid?” and “Who’s retarded?” while being told by Sara that she hoped he would get cancer and ‘if only you would die,’ when he returned from a smoking break and smelled of cigarettes.

🔹 Ohev Ami claimed he was treated poorly on a daily basis, but what broke his spirit was an exchange in December 2025, in which Sara Netanyahu allegedly diagnosed him with autism and demanded he paid for it: “I am the Prime Minister’s wife, I am the number one psychologist in Israel, and I have no competitors,” she allegedly told him, adding: “My therapy costs a lot of money.”

🔹 According to the lawsuit, she then told Ohev Ami that she had diagnosed him as being on the autistic spectrum, which touched a nerve because the worker had previously shared that his son had autism.

🔹 However, what surprised Ohev Ami more was that after the diagnosis, the Premier’s wife allegedly demanded he handed over three paychecks as compensation and payment.

🔹 According to the lawsuit, Ohev-Ami was sometimes expected to work from morning until the pre-dawn hours of the following day, regularly accumulating over 100 hours overtime each month, but as a result of the workplace conditions, he said he suffered a deterioration in his health, noting that on the day Sara diagnosed him as autistic, he sought treatment for chest problems, and later required a pacemaker.

🔹 The suit also accused the Premier’s son Yair (Yonathan) of inappropriate behaviour, alleging that the younger Netanyahu once threw Ohev Ami out of the residence for not having changed his bedsheets for him.

🔹 According to the lawsuit, Ohev Ami’s de-facto supervisor at the Prime Minister’s Residence Efi Azulai, who was previously censured by the Civil Service’s Disciplinary Tribunal, eventually regained employment in the residence through a third-party contract.

🔹 The Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement in response last week saying Ohev Ami failed in his job after working a short time at the residence, where he faced ‘difficulties cooperating with other workers and meeting the demands of the job,’ stating that as a result, and after an orderly process, ‘the decision was made to terminate his employment for professional reasons only.

🔹 Additionally, the statement said the lawsuit was filed only after the plaintiff had requested to return to work at the Prime Minister’s Residence and was refused.

🔹 Sara Netanyahu has faced years of abuse accusations and successful cases against her dating back to 1996 when a children’s nanny was fired for burning soup, and as recent as May this year, where an employment agency reportedly paid tens of thousands of shekels in compensation to a worker who said Sara had thrown tomatoes and olives at her and disparaged her on a number of occasions.

🔹 Former caretaker Menny Naftali successfully sued Sara in 2017 and was awarded NIS 170,000 compensation (around $43,735) by the Jerusalem Labor Court, which found Naftali had been mistreated, suffered both verbal and emotional abuse, and had been misled over his terms of employment at the residence.
