French President Emmanuel Macron has allegedly been informed by the Israeli Government about its conditions for stopping the military operations in Lebanon, according to widely circulated reports.
According to the provided information, there is a set of five main goals:
- A clear declaration from Hezbollah to stop fighting and lay down weapons
- Entry of the Lebanese Armed Forces into Dahiyeh and Hezbollah strongholds in the Bekaa Valley and South Lebanon
- Immediately start of confiscating weapons within a deadline not exceeding two weeks
- Direct supervision by the United States over the operation
- A clearer declaration from the Lebanese state that it is ready to enter direct peace negotiations
Tel Aviv reportedly gave Beirut until the end of the week to announce its response, while threatening to expand the intensity of the strikes to include new areas and state facilities.
Hezbollah reportedly told Baabda that it is not willing to meet any of the Israeli demands, and that it would treat any raid on its weapons depots as it would treat any Israeli attacks.
