Governor Hits Out After Ukrainian Attack On Volgograd Refinery

Ukrainian drones targeted a Russian refinery in the region of Volgograd last night, with residents noting at least ten explosions in the districts of Dzerzhinsky and Spartanovka, stating that a drone had hit an apartment building causing a fire.

However, videos sent to ExileNova appeared to show evidence of the ongoing attack, a fire in one apartment building, and a misfiring Russian S-400 system flying into the side of the same building.

As soon as the first explosions had occurred, Russian propaganda pages began circulating pictures announcing that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had targeted a civilian building, along with Regional Governor Andrey Bocharov’s official Telegram updates.

Later, Governor Alexander Gusev took to Telegram once again to update that three people had been injured during the attack, reminding residents that there was a ban in place for sharing data that “allows identifying UAV systems and countermeasures, their type, location or fall site, launch or trajectory, determining attack locations and the fact of objects.”

This latest report was most likely due to the fact that no drones were recorded hitting the building, but the missile clearly did.

Governor Alexander Gusev stated this morning that UAV debris fell at an infrastructure facility, but didn’t specify which facility was involved, while adding that the façade of a private house and a fence were damaged when the suppressed UAV fell.

Earlier, residents of the region wrote on social media about drones in Novokuibyshevsk, where the Rosneft oil refinery is located.
