Fire Breaks Out At A Nizhnekamsk Refinery In The Republic Of Tatarstan

Locals are risking punishment in the Republic of Tatarstan by sharing video footage and images of a fire at a chemical plant in Nizhnekamsk in Russia earlier today, and the reasons for the explosion are still being clarified.

Smoke appeared to be rising from the AVT unit at a local refinery when viewing the fires from long-distance, while roadside footage showed the primary oil processing units on fire.

UPDATE: The fire is at one of the production units of the “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” enterprise, according to Tatar-inform, citing the company’s press service, adding that there weren’t any casualties, but the cause of the fire still wasn’t specified.
