Ukraine Regional Recap and Damage Reports for October 2

General Staff Report:

Day 1683 was marked with 194 combat clashes recorded between Ukraine and Russia in the past 24 hours, as Russia launched one missile and 95 air strikes, using 275 guided aerial bombs, while also using 9522 kamikaze drones and carrying out 2435 artillery attacks on populated areas and military positions, 33 of which included the use of multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck an unmanned aerial vehicle control point, a concentration area for energy assault groups, a logistics hub, five artillery systems, and a Russian command post.

Russia lost approximately 1560 personnel, while damage or destruction was caused to three tanks, six armoured fighting vehicles, 45 artillery systems, three multiple launch rocket systems, 14 ground robotic complexes, 1645 unmanned aerial vehicles, 422 units of trucks, and three units of special equipment of Russia.

UAF Report:

Between 6PM last night and 9am this morning, Russia launched 157 attack drones, 45 of which were jet-powered, as Ukrainian Defences suppressed or destroyed 131 drones, but hits were recorded at 12 locations, and debris fell at another five locations.

Meanwhile, Russia targeted the Odesa region with a barrage of munitions including the Banderol drones, and the consequences of these are still being verified.

Chernihiv:

During the day yesterday, Russia struck three border communities with various types of weapons, in Novgorod-Siverska, Semenivska, and Snovska, using FPV drones and Molniya-type UAVs, as well as mortars and explosions dropped from drones, and at least five villages came under fire, while at least 38 explosions were heard.

Russian forces damaged two private houses, a fence, and a nearby car during the strike on the Novgorod-Siverskyi district with a Molniya-type drone.

Due to a malfunction in the energy system, around 60,000 people were left without electricity in the Koryukivka, Novgorod-Siverskyi, and Nizhyn districts yesterday.

Dnipropetrovsk:

Three people were injured during a Russian drone attack yesterday evening, while six were rescued by emergency services from smoke-filled apartments, while a fire broke out in a high-rise residential building that the firefighters managed to extinguish quickly.

A private house, cars, and solar panels were damaged in the Nikopol region as a result of Russian strikes overnight, while infrastructure was damaged in the Zelendolska community of Kryvyi Rih.

During the evening a strike was recorded on a business centre in the city centre of Dnipro, which caused a fire after striking the roof, which was the second attack on the same building within the space of a week.

Hennadiy, a representative of the owner of one of the premises, said the business centre was not operational at the time of the attack, because the previous take 4 days earlier had left the building in a state of disrepair, and the issue of restoring the building was under consideration.

A strike on a multi-story building in the city centre of Dnipro occurred on the morning of October 3, with local residents assessing the damage and attempting to salvage belongings, while 4 women injured in the strike refused to be admitted to hospital, and firefighters rescued six people from the damaged building.

Donetsk:

One person was injured as a result of shelling in Sloviansk yesterday, reported head of the City Military Administration Vadym Lyakh, who said a multi-story building, three private houses, passenger cars, and a truck were damaged in the city.

Ten people were injured in the past 24 hours due to Russian strikes, reported the head of the Regional Military Administration Filashkin, who said nine residents were from Kramatorsk and one was from Sloviansk.

Russia shelled five populated areas of the region in the past 24 hours according to the Donetsk police, noting that Kramatorsk was attacked with drones and six KAB-500 guided aerial bombs, causing damage to private and multi-story buildings, an administrative building, an enterprise, a supermarket, a bus, civilian vehicles, and garages.

Drones were used to target Sloviansk in the past 24 hours, while a vehicle was damaged in the village Dolyna and another in Sukhanivtsi as a result of FPV drone strikes.

Kharkiv:

Russia struck a two-story apartment building in the village of Shevchenkove in the Kupiansk district with drones yesterday, resulting in three people being injured, while damage was caused to wooden structures of the roof, windows, and balconies, and a second fire occurred later which damaged an ambulance vehicle.

Another strike launched around noon was recorded on another two-story residential building in the city, causing four apartments and the roof to catch fire, according to the State Emergency Services.

Russia struck the residential areas of Sloboda and Nemyshlyansky districts of Kharkiv yesterday afternoon, killing two people and injuring 36 others, including two children.

Fires broke out as a result of the strikes, destroying private homes, outbuildings and nearby parked cars, as well as damaging office buildings, an educational institution, and other vehicles, to varying degrees, as rescuers dealt with the consequences.

Russia struck Zolochiv with an FPV drone at 3:45am local time this morning, according to head of the Local Military Administration Viktor Kovalenko, stating that the drone hit a car, damaging windows in a building, along with power lines.

Kovalenko also reported that an FPV drone struck a tractor on the road between Skovorodynivka and Pysarivka around 9:50am yesterday morning, killing a 50-year-old mechanic.

Russia also struck a Gazmerezhi UAZ vehicle in the Zolochiv community, causing damage to the vehicle as a result of a direct hit, but no one was hit, according to the company.

Three people sought assistance following a strike on the Kyiv district of Kharkiv, according to City Mayor Ihor Terekhov, who said that damage was caused to a private house and a gas pipeline as a result of the strike.

A FPV drone attacked a civilian car last night travelling between Lisne and Ruska Lozova, according to Head of the Derhachi Military Administration Vyacheslav Zadorenko, stating that the father of a family with two children was injured, while his wife and children experienced stress reactions.

During another attack yesterday in the village of Ruska Lozova, a drone killed a 75-year-old man who was at home, when a fragment hit him in the back of the head, reported Zadorenko.

Head of the Kupiansk District Military Administration Andriy Kanasheshy, said that a Geran-4 drone targeted the town of Velykyi Burluk yesterday, destroying a private house as a result of the fire that broke out.

Kyiv:

Following at least four attacks on the Southern Bridge over the Dnieper River in Kyiv, special measures have been put in place to prevent traffic from crossing during air raid alerts on multiple bridges in the Ukrainian capital, resulting in traffic jams stretching for miles, as passengers attempt to travel from one bank to the other.

Rescuers reported that four people, including a child, were injured as a result of last night’s attack on Hostomel, while the fire that broke out in two warehouses had been extinguished, and debris was being cleared from sites, as investigators assessed the sites.

Mykolaiv:

Russian forces launched UAVs at Mykolaiv yesterday, resulting in a fire breaking out at a service station and a restaurant hotel complex which firefighters contained and extinguished quickly, while three people injured during the strike were admitted to hospital.

Another fire broke out in garages covering an area of 60 square metres in one of the districts of Mykolaiv City, but rescuers extinguished this fire, and no casualties or injuries were reported as a result of this strike.

Rescuers also extinguished a fire that broke out in an outbuilding of a private property in the village of Kotliareve, in the Shevchenkivka territorial community of the Mykolaiv district, with household items reportedly damaged during the fire.

Sumy:

A mother and child experienced severe stress reactions following a Russian strike in the Nedryhailiv community, as emergency services extinguished a fire that broke out in a microbus and a nearby building as a result of the strike, reported head of the Regional State Administration Oleg Hryhorov.

During the evening, a Russian drone struck a car, with the explosion damaging the windows of an apartment building, while a garage cooperative was also targeted, according to the State Emergency Service.

The SES added that a fire and rescue unit was deployed to inspect the area where a third drone strike occurred, hitting a two-story residential building.

A man and a woman was killed on October 1 in the Krasnopil community as a result of shelling, while a woman who had been injured the day before following a KAB strike died in the hospital yesterday, according to the regional military administration.

There were injured, wounded, and people with acute stress reactions in the communities of Sumy, Krasnopil, Stepanky, and Nedryhailiv as a result of the Russian attacks.

An infrastructure facility was destroyed in he Voronizky village council district, which left part of the Shostka without electricity, according to the city Mayor Mykola Noga.

Damage was caused to a ventilation structure on the roof of an apartment building in Sumy, and the roof of one of the medical facilities in the Kovpakivsky district of the city were damaged, along with a farm, according to Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Serhiy Kryvosyheyenko, adding that there were no reports of injuries so far.

Zaporizhzhia:

Russia appeared to have deliberately struck the territory of a fire and rescue unit as rescuers were preparing to respond to a call, leaving one rescuer injured and receiving all medical assistance as a result of the strike.

Head of the Regional Defence Council Ivan Fedorov reported that two people were injured during the 737 Russian attacks carried out on 55 areas of the region yesterday.

Russia launched 20 air strikes, used 572 various types of drones, launched 1 barrage of rockets, as well as 144 artillery strikes, resulting in 60 reports of damage to infrastructure, residential buildings, and vehicles.
