Under the ceasefire agreement posed by the USA, Israel were barred from attacking north of the Litani, however on Monday April 27, Israel attacked the Bekka Valley in Lebanon.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told an IDF senior command conference that Israel ‘has the freedom to thwart immediate and emerging threats’ in Lebanon, stating: “We are striking in the security zone and also north of the Litani.”
Netanyahu claimed Hezbollah retained around 10% of its pre-war rockets, as well as drones and 122mm rocket threats: “I do not delude myself, the work is not complete,” he said, adding that if Israel solves those threats through operational and technological means: “we are effectively on the path to disarming Hezbollah,” he claimed.
