Iran talks stall; Oman urging both sides to return tomorrow; Whitkoff and Kushner ‘disappointed

According to Iran’s state broadcaster, IRIB, who are live in Geneva at the negotiations, Iran are pretty much refusing to budge on some of the negotiations, and the US have already hinted that they could potentially launch a strike within the next 24 hours to pressure Iran further.

Iran’s broadcaster said that Iran’s right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, including producing the fuel for nuclear power plants, shall be preserved, which is the opposite of what American officials had been asking for earlier.

Again, differing from the requests of the US, transferring Iran’s enriched uranium abroad is ‘completely rejected and will absolutely not happen,’ while Iran are also pushing for the need to remove all economic sanctions, a move that the US said they would do in stages.

However, the IRB then insisted: ‘Transferring Iran’s uranium enriched stockpile abroad is off the table and this was communicated to the American side.’

Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are both disappointed following the negotiation session this morning, and they considered the Iranian proposal as ‘insufficient,’ according to Axios.

Because Iran is not agreeing to the US demands, Oman is urging both sides to extend the negotiations in Geneva by an extra day, and to stay and continue talks tomorrow, Axios also reported.
