One killed and 17 others injured in Zaporizhzhia following Russian strikes in 24 hours

As night turned into day, the assessment of the consequences of Russia’s combined strike on the Zaporizhzhia region, which included drones, grad rockets and missiles, which caused damage to buildings and shopping centres in the city.

Nine people were reported injured by the Head of the Regional State Administration Ivan Fedorov, including an 8-year-old child.

“Since the second night, the enemy has used at least 20 means of destruction against Zaporizhzhia – ‘Shaheds’, ballistic missiles, guided aerial bombs,” Fedorov reported on the My Ukraine Channel.

“At present, there are reports of 8 injured, including an 8-year-old boy – all of them have received medical assistance, and there are no hospitalised patients as a result of tonight’s massive attack – at the same time, 28 people who were injured during previous bombardments are in the region’s hospitals.

“Usually, some residents seek help several hours after the attacks, when the stress subsides – therefore, the number of injured may still be adjusted, especially since the attack is ongoing,” noted Fedorov this morning.

19 multi-apartment buildings, four private sector buildings and non-residential buildings were damaged as a result of last night’s attack, and there is no heating supply in more than 500 buildings in three districts of the city.

Public utilities had begun repair work this morning to close windows with OSB boards in multi-apartment buildings, while specialists from district administrations were documenting the consequences.

One person was killed and eight others injured as a result of attacks yesterday on the Zaporizhzhia and Polohivsky regions, reported Fedorov, noting that Russia had carried out 720 strikes against 31 populated areas of the region.

Russia used 3 missiles, 16 air strikes, 421 various types of drones, 5 attacks with MLRS and 275 artillery strikes, which resulted in 137 reports of damage to housing, cars and infrastructure.
