Iranian Crown Prince in exile Reza Pahlavi spoke at the Munich Security Conference

Taking to the podium to address Europe and the US at the conference, Iranian Crown Prince in exile Reza Pahalvi used the moment to share a perspective of the situation in Iran.

“Every day that goes by, more Iranians are dying in Iran,” Pahlavi said, even though the hangings were stopped by US President Donald Trump for the protestors, and other rallies have been peaceful this far: “A rapid intervention will only help save more lives,” Pahlavi claimed.

“Part of my strategy has always been to call for maximum defections to make sure that, unlike what happened in Iraq after Saddam, we don’t have a failed state and we don’t have chaos,” Pahlavi went on to say, without acknowledging the fact his very incitement and encouragement for Iranians to protest led to deaths and arrests.

Pahlavi said: “If yesterday’s reformers today decide that it’s  no use, we’d better join with the people and have the same demands, they’re welcome to join us – it’s as simple as that,’ noting that as long as they’re not criminally implicated in the murder of their own citizens, “because that’s a different story, and they will have to account for it.”

In closing, Pahlavi claimed that: “All the funding that we receive is private donation, private sector helping, and Iranian people contributing – I have yet to receive a penny of Government support from any Government.”
