Russia is currently abiding by an energy ceasefire that was verbally agreed, although there is still no official word from Russian President Vladimir Putin, however, that didn’t stop attacks happening on Kharkiv throughout the past two days.
What appears on the face of things to be the former premises of the Philip Morris Ukraine tobacco factory, who suspended operations at the warehouse on February 24, 2022, after the opening of a new factory in the Lviv region, where 250 employees of the Kharkiv factory were also located, according to the company’s Communications Manager Victoria Illinskaya.
“On Friday, January 30, as a result of a night missile strike, a part of the company’s Kharkiv factory was damaged,” the statement said, stating that “all on-duty staff were in a shelter.”
According to the statement, the company was in constant contact with the emergency services and provided any necessary assistance, while continuing to fulfill its obligations to the state budget, partners, and consumers.
While rescuers were dealing with the cleanup operation at the warehouse, energy workers were investigating the reason for outages in the heating supply.
Investigators eventually noted that unknown individuals in the Izium district had opened a heating supply valve in one of the buildings, which resulted in the boiler house in the central part of the city not being able to provide full heating for several hours, according to reports from the Deputy Head of the Municipal Administration of Izium Alexi Gomon.
No one was injured, but damage was caused to six private houses, outbuildings and a power grid, according to the head of the Zolochiv District Administration Viktor Kovalenko, noting that the attack happened at 08:20 this morning.
