Corruption case against Former Head of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Vladimir Region

Former Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Vladimir Region Valery Medvedev has been arrested and charged in a criminal case of receiving a bribe of a particularly large scale, but the details of the case hasn’t been disclosed, although Medvedev has been transferred to Moscow and the investigation is being conducted by the central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Medvedev suddenly disappeared from public following the vacation of his office building in October, after which no colleague saw him, and it only became known in November that Medvedev had prematurely left his post, having headed the department since 2022, and in November 2023 Medvedev was awarded the rank of Major-General of Police.
