Ukraine attacked the oil refinery in the Saratov region again overnight, which was confirmed after residents initially took to social media to report the sound of explosions.
Supernova+ was the first to release footage of the moment of the strike by the Ukrainian forces, which was analysed by OSINT specialists from multiple sources including Astra, to conclude the Saratov Refinery was indeed attacked.
According to the Astra OSINT team: “Judging by the footage, the unit is covered with a net, but it is worth noting that there is already a source of fire in the western part of the plant in the video, possibly near the tanks.”
Earlier, analysts from the Dnipro OSINT project had also come to the same conclusion.
Ukraine previously attacked the Saratov oil refinery on October 16, and its one of the oldest oil refining enterprises in Russia, which as of 2023, processed around 4.8 million tons.
An update by the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces at 11am stated that a hit occurred on the refinery causing a fire in the area of the ELOU AVT-6 refining complex.
