Ukraine General Staff Update for August 29
➡️ Day 1648 of the war saw 242 combat clashes recorded during 24 hours, while Russia also launched 77 air strikes, dropped 284 guided aerial bombs, used 9213 kamikaze drones and carried out 2987 shellings in different regions of Ukraine.
🔹 Sumy was subjected to artillery fire across various settlements, while the AFU claimed that artillery of the Defence Forces struck three areas of concentration and three command and control points for unmanned aerial vehicles.
🔹 According to the report, the largest number of assault operations was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, where defenders repelled 41 attacks.
🔹 During the 24 hours to 8am on August 29, Russia lost approximately 1420 people, according to the General Staff report, claiming that destruction or damage was caused to three tanks, four armoured combat vehicles, 25 artillery systems, three multiple launch rocket systems, nine ground-based robotic complexes, 1360 unmanned aerial vehicles, 318 different vehicles, and four units of special equipment.
➡️ Between 6pm on August 28 and 8:30am on August 29, the General Staff claimed Russia launched an Onyx anti-ship missile, an Iskander-M from Crimea, 267 drones (including jet drones) as well as Gerber, S8000 Banderol, and Parody imitation drones which were launched from the areas of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Promorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Donetsk and Crimea.
🔹 Air defences in operation included aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces, who alleged to have destroyed or suppressed 233 drones overnight.
🔹 Hits were recorded at 15 locations, and debris from downed drones fell at four others, while some projectiles didn’t reach targets, and information about those incidents are still being clarified.
