The IDF has said it is close to fully capturing Hezbollah’s stronghold of Bint Jbeil in Southern Lebanon, claiming to have killed over 100 operatives during the operation.
Forces led by the 98th Division alongside paratrooper, commando and Givati units first encircled the town to block reinforcements and prevent escapes before launching their assault.
According to the IDF, around 150 Hezbollah fighters, including elite Radwan Force members, were present before the operation, but troops had reduced this number while destroying dozens of militant sites as well as uncovering large weapons caches.
The IDF have significantly reduced attacks from the town, although some fire does still continue, as operations are expected to continue for a few more days to eliminate the remaining fighters and infrastructure.
