Bill Gates apologised to staff at the Gates Foundation at a town hall on Tuesday in relation to his past ties with the late Jeffrey Epstein, calling the association a ‘huge mistake’ that harmed the organisation’s reputation, reported the WSJ.
Gates told staff that he met with Epstein between 2011 and 2014, traveled on his private jet, and attended meetings in both the US and Europe, but maintained he ‘did nothing illicit’ and had no contact with victims.
At the Foundation gathering, Gates also acknowledged two affairs with Russian women that Epstein later discovered, saying that they were completely unrelated to Epstein’s criminal activities.
