Colombian President Gustavo Petro was speaking to cameras last night, explaining that he had escaped an assassination attempt, noting that it had taken two days of travel to avoid being killed.
Petro said: “I have to confess that I’ve been travelling for two days escaping being killed – I couldn’t land for two hours last night, because the lights weren’t turned on – this morning I didn’t land where I was supposed to land, because I knew they were going to shoot down the helicopter, with my children too.”
President Petro noted that he didn’t know what to do, so chose the option of flying over the open sea for four hours and “arrived where I wasn’t supposed to arrive, but arrived.”
According to Petro, there is an ongoing plot against him that involves planted drugs, judicial persecution and election sabotage efforts.
“There is a General that I ordered to withdraw from the police – he had a strange mission – someone gave him the order, obviously not us, to put psychoactive substances in my car – he had this mission to destroy the meeting with Trump in some way or another, they want to damage the President physically,” Petro said.
