Russia attacked the Shostka community of Sumy with strike drones on February 8, resulting in an infrastructure facility being destroyed, while damage was caused to social sector buildings, but no casualties were reported by Shostka Mayor Nikolay Noga.
An attack was also registered on a multi-apartment building in the Sumy community with a drone, which didn’t cause any casualties, but 15 windows were broken and the roof was damaged, as utility services worked at the scene, reported Head of the Sumy Municipal Administration Sergei Krivosheyenko.
Following the attacks on the Sumy region overnight, there was a large-scale power outage for consumers of the Krolovets company, reported the regional power company.
Seven people were injured over the course of yesterday, reported the State Emergency Services, noting that women aged 25 and 35, as well as men aged 34 and 36 were injured as a result of a drone strike on the Shotska community; a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were injured in the Sumy community; and a 33-year-old man was injured in the Komyshany community.
This morning around 09:30, a drone attack in Sumy damaged the windows of around 30 apartments.
One of the building’s residents, Irina, bought an apartment with the compensation she received, but a window in her home was broken, and there was a 9-month-old child in the apartment, who wasn’t injured, reported Suspilne.
There were two hits on the Kovpakovsky district of Sumy this morning, as Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar attended the scene.
As a result of the first strike, the roof of a private house was damaged, while windows and seven balcony frames in a multi-apartment building were damaged in the second strike, Kobzar clarified.
