Russia’s SBU stated that 65-year-old Lubomir Korba was the attempted killer who had organised the attack and traveled to Moscow at the end of December on the orders of Ukraine’s Special Services.
Korba was born in the Ternopil region of Ukraine and also holds Russian citizenship, but was arrested in Dubai having fled there after the shooting.
Accomplice Viktor Vasin, 66, actually lives in Moscow and had a long friendship with Korba, as they both engaged in various shady activities, as records noted that Vasin may have served in the navy, often took out microloans, and criticised the Russian authorities on social media.
Zinaida Serebrytskaya came from the LNR, but in recent years had lived in Moscow and gained Russian citizenship, and it was at Zinaida’s apartment where Korba and Vasin settled, next to General Alekseev’s home.
For a month and a half, the woman had communicated with the building’s chat, simultaneously gathering information about the general’s movements, and after the attempted assassination, Serebrytskaya was able to flee to Ukraine.
General Alekseev has regained consciousness and is already talking, reports stated.
