Around 800,000 people still had no electricity in their homes last night, while the luckier residents only saw electricity for several hours in a day, and no electricity means no heating or hot water.
Desniansky district is a heavily populated residential area without heating, because most of the residents had less than 30 minutes of electricity in the past 2 days, reported Pravda Gerashchenko.
Large tents had been installed in the district so that people could spend nights in relative warmth and have some hot food, but for many elderly people, leaving their homes was virtually impossible without an elevator, so social services were doing their best to deliver hot food to the elderly at least once a day.
