Russia launched another large-scale drone and missile attack on the capital of Ukraine again last night, using at least 2 Zircon hypersonic missiles, 8 Iskander-M ballistic missiles, 3 Iskander-K / X-69 cruise missiles, 4 X-22/X-32 supersonic missiles and 1 Kinzhal hypersonic missile.
According to missile trackers and Ukrainian alert monitors, the main targets of the attack were Kyiv’s CHP-4, CHP-5 and CHP-6 power plants along with the 750kV substation near Navalyalkivka in western Kyiv oblast, which links the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant to Kyiv in Bila Tserkva.
Not all drones and missiles reached their targets, with City Mayor Vitali Klitschko reporting that one person had died and four injured in the capital, while the Regional State Administration noted another four injuries in the region.
Calls came in early as a result of hits on non-residential buildings in the Desnyansky and Holosiivsky districts, followed by a hit on an office building in the Solomianskyi district, and reports of garages on fire in the Dniproprovskyi district, while a medical call was made in the Darnytsyi district.
As reports continued to flood in, announcements of four victims soon came through, noting that three of the casualties had been admitted to hospital and the other had been treated at the scene.
Klitschko later confirmed that there was damage caused by falling debris on a non-residential building in the Desnyianskyi District, while the fall of debris caused a fire to break out at a fuel truck and a garage cooperative in the Dniproprovskyi district, and fall of debris caused damage to windows of a multi-apartment building.
Falling debris near a private medical facility in the Darnytskyi district damaged windows but didn’t cause a fire, while the fall of debris on the territory of a non-residential building in the Holosiivskyi district resided in a fire breaking out, and windows were broken at a private household at another address.
Damage was caused to a six-story office building in the Solomianskyi district as the result of falling debris.
As a result of the attacks, there were disruptions in heat and water supply on the left bank of the capital, causing some metro trains on the green line to run temporary changes between some stations.
Nearly 6,000 buildings in the city had been left without heating again in the city, reported Klitschko, noting that most of them had already been connected to the heat supply twice after previous attacks.
Four people were also injured in the Kyiv region, reported the head of the Regional State Administration, noting that: “In the Brovary district, a woman born in 1994 received cuts to her leg – she was taken to hospital. Two other victims, a man born in 1988 and a woman born in 1983 received minor cuts. All necessary assistance was provided to them on the spot.”
“In the Boryspil district, a woman born in 1996 with a diagnosis of a closed head injury was hospitalized. In addition to human suffering – destroying houses. In the Brovary district, four private houses and two cars were damaged. Another house was damaged in the Boryspil district,” added the OVA.
