During an operation in the Kyivsky district of Odessa, a group of civilians used tear gas against representatives of the TCC and the SP during a routine document check, causing the service men to suffer injuries and corneal burns, while their equipment and service car were damaged.
According to an official statement published on Facebook by the TCC and the SP, the incident took place on February 15, 2026, noting that the conflict arose when the alert group was checking military registration documents and escorting a man to the district TCC office.
“Instead of fulfilling the legitimate demands of representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the crowd resorted to massive obstruction of state activities in the field of mobilisation training,” the post read.
Tear gas and physical force were used against the employees of the TCC and the Joint Venture, resulting in the personnel receiving bodily injuries and chemical burns to the corneas of the eyes – all the injured were hospitalised for treatment.
According to the Odessa Regional TCC and the Joint Police Department, the actions taken by the civilians were criminal, and the department’s leadership is already preparing a petition to law enforcement officers to hold all participants in the incident accountable.
“Any interference in mobilisation measures and the use of force against servicemen in the performance of duty entails inevitable responsibility – every fact of aggression will be investigated, and every participant will be identified,” the department said.
The institution added that forceful pressure on the military is helping the aggressor in destabilising the rear, so law and order will be ensured by “all available legal methods.”
