Strikes on a Kharkiv kindergarten with a drone yesterday at around 11am local time resulted in the death of a man aged 40 as well as ten injuries, including a child, according to Mayor Ihor Teherov, adding that a Geran-2 drone destroyed the second floor of the building.
At the time of the attack there were 30 children in a nearby shelter, reported Serhiy Bolvinov, head of the investigative department of the Kharkiv Police, adding that another 18 children hadn’t attended preschool that day.
Shortly after the attack, multiple Russian channels attempted to say that the drone attack was misinformation, because children carried away in footage were clean, not covered in debris as would be expected after an attack, however the fact they were in a shelter clearly debunked this myth.
An attack by Russian troops struck rescuers in the Kharkiv region with a drone in Zelenyi Hai, killing the Commander of the 43rd State Fire and Rescue Unit of the 4th State Fire and Rescue Detachment of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Kharkiv, Yuriy Chystikov.
Five other rescuers were injured as a result of the attack, and the press service said the Russians attacked the site where the SES firefighters were working again after the first hit, which is what caused the injuries and fatality.
Two rescuers who were hit by the strike will be treated as outpatients, while three were to remain in hospital, reported the Spokesperson of the State Emergency Service of Kharkiv, Yevhen Vasylenko, adding that one of the firefighters was in a serious condition and the other two were in a moderate condition.
An attack in the Vilkhivska community yesterday resulted in a tractor driver suffering from concussion and a shrapnel facial injury after detonating an unknown object in a field.
Russia attacked one of Kharkiv’s non-operational enterprises with strike drones yesterday according to the head of the Izium RMA Stepan Maselsky, adding that a resident of Barkinkove was injured by glass that flew out of a house because of a blast wave.
Around 5:30 this morning local time, the Russians struck Lozova with Geran-2 drones, hitting critical infrastructure with the attack, so as of 09:30, only some of the consumers had electricity, reported Lozova city mayor Serhiy Zelensky, adding that people weren’t injured, but the roofs of houses near the impact site had been damaged.
Spokesperson for the Kharkiv City Council Mariam Satuyeva stated that a utility worker who was admitted to intensive care after a strike on the Kholodnogirskyi district yesterday morning, adding that a total of four employees of the municipal enterprise had been injured.
