Sean Hannity interviewed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who explained why Israel had to act against Iran, why the war had to come now, and more.
“The reason we had to act now is because they, after we hit their nuclear sites and their ballistic program, you’d think they learned a lesson, but they didn’t, because they’re irreformable – they’re totally fanatic about this, about the goal of destroying America.
“So they started building new sites, new places, underground bunkers, that would make their ballistic missile program and their atomic bomb program immune within months – if no action was taken now, no action could be taken in the future, and then they could target America, they could blackmail America, they could threaten us and everyone in between – so action had to be taken, and you needed a resolute president like Donald J Trump to take that action.
“When Israel and America work together, amazing things happen – we work together, and amazing tings happen – it wouldn’t happen without the leadership of President Trump.
“We met at Mar-a-Lago, and the first thing that Donald Trump said to me, he said: ‘We have to prevent Iran getting nukes,’ – to have a regime like that, that plans to eradicate the United States, have weapons of mass death, would have been the greatest threat that America would face in the coming decades.
“He tried to get negotiations, he negotiated with them, they didn’t get it, they tried to string him along – so action had to be taken, and we took it.
“You’re not going to have an endless war – this terror regime in Iran is at its weakest point since it hijacked Iran from the brave Iranian people 47 years ago – this is going to be a quick and decisive action.
“We’re going to create the conditions, first, for the Iranian people to get control of their destiny, to form their own democratically elected government, which will make IRan a different Iran altogether, because Iran has been the main engine of war over these years.”
“95% of all the problems you see in the Middle East are generated by Iran, the worldwide terror network that they built is generated and orchestrated from Iran.
“When you take away Iran, when you let the people of Iran have the opportunity to act to liberate themselves and free themselves from the yoke of this terror machine, you get a different future – I think it will open up the door for many peace treaties with Arab countries, Muslim countries – I think it changes the world.
“It’s up to the people of Iran, in the final count, to change the government, but we are creating, America and Israel together are creating conditions for them to do so.
“I think that if we go through what we plan to do, I think it will create conditions for peace – this is not an endless war, this is in fact, something that will usher in an era of peace that we haven’t even dreamed of.
“I have spoken about this for decades, and I try to persuade successive American administrations to take firm action – and President Trump, in his first term, did – he got out of the disastrous Iran deal right off the bat.
“He did everything he could to prevent them from going into the nuclear program that they seek to build atomic bombs to threaten us and you, and ultimately attack both of us and to destroy us as much as they can, because this is what these people do.
“They basically are in the business of mass death, and you’re right to call them a death cult – I worked with several presidents, I always appreciated the fact that we had, well, forthright discussions – often we agreed, but often we disagreed, and I appreciate that we kept the alliance going.
“There’s never been a president like Donald J Trump – his resoluteness, his decisiveness, his clarity of thinking, the way he gets things right to the crux of thing, it cuts through the fluff, cuts through the chase, gets down to the main point and it gets down to the main action that needs to be taken.
“I think for Israel, and I think for the countries of the free world – let me tell you, I think the world it is – we’re very lucky to have him as the leader of the free world and, in fact, the leader of the free world.
“He’s brought America back to being the leader of the world, and it makes a huge difference.
“I’m taking to America’s allies in the region, just one by one, and I can’t quote from these conversations, but I can tell you they all share this, and they all say: ‘Thank God that Donald Trump is here, thank God that you, the two of you, are acting together to remove this threat, not only to you, but to us.’
“Iran today just bombed, with these ballistic missiles, these weapons of mass death, these weapons of terror, they’re terror weapons, they bombed all these countries – they bombed Cyprus, which is Europe – I’ve said it won’t take very long, they’re bombing us and they’ll bomb Europe, and when they develop intercontinental ballistic missiles and the nuclear wars to fit on these ballistic missiles, they’ll threaten you, and they’ll bomb you.
“This is what President Trump understood, and among US presidents that I’ve worked with, he took action, and we’re all very, very lucky that he did – we had to take the action now and we did, otherwise the Iranian mass murder regime would have immunity from future action.”
Iran will lead to normalisation with Saudi Arabia and other regional countries:
“I think Saudi Arabia will have a lot to gain, I think all these countries around Iran are threatened by Iran, I think they want to see this regime go down, even if they don’t publicly say that – they’ve just been targeted by Iran.
“If Iran is removed, that is a great boon to Saudi Arabia, a great boon to these other countries – and I think peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia would be really possible, and probably very close, once this thing happens – this is a gateway for peace, for a broader peace, and I believe that we can achieve it.
“We brought forward the Abraham Accords, which were four peace treaties with four Arab countries, and now, working together against Iran, we will be able to bring many, many more peace treaties – this is not an endless war, this is a gateway to peace – it’s the exact opposite of what people are saying.”
Netanyahu laughed as he dismissed claims that he dragged President Trump into a war against Iran: “I mean that’s ridiculous – Donald Trump is the strongest leader in the world,” Bibi said: “He does what he thinks is right for America, he does what he thinks is right for future generations.
“I know the cost of war, but I know sometimes that war is necessary to protect us from the people who would destroy us, and that’s what free societies have to understand – freedom is precious, but it has to be protected – we have to understand that we’re fighting the bad guys, and we’re the good guys.
“These people massacred their own people – imagine what these people who chant “Death to America” would do if they had ballistic missiles and the nuclear warheads to deliver to every American city – do you wait? Do you want to bet your future on whether they would do it or they would not do it?
“Nobody stopped North Korea, so now they have ballistic missiles and nuclear warheads, but they don’t say ‘Death to America,’ Iran is 50 North Koreans, Iran is committed to your destruction, whether people understand it or not, the leadership has to understand it, Donald Trump understand it – you don’t have to drag him into anything, but he would do it anyway, he does what he thinks is right, and this is right.
“So here’s the difference between us – these mass murderers in Tehran target civilians – we in Israel and America target the mass terrorists, that’s the nutshell of the difference, we have to protect our world against these people, and if these people have the weapons of mass death, these mass murderers, then you’ll have mass death.”
Explaining why action needed to be taken, Netanyahu said: “Winston Churchill called this a ‘slumber of democracies,’ they say they slumber, they go to sleep and they wake up only when the jarring gong of danger wakes them up.
“Well, I think President Trump and I think differently, we don’t have to sleep, we don’t have to slumber, we don’t have to look askance, look aside, and say there is no danger – there is a great danger, and it’s time to act – the good guys need to act early enough, and there are those so-called leaders who don’t see it, they just sit back and, you know, they say, ‘well it’s a terrible thing.’
“No, it’s not a terrible thing to protect humanity, to protect America, to protect Israel, to protect the free world from this theological thuggery – these fanatics who don’t care, who just export death, mass death everywhere, and build terror armies to strangle other people, the people of Lebanon and the people of Gaza and the people of other people – that’s what they do, so to act against them is not a bad thing, it’s a good thing.”
Netanyahu concluded: “It’s high time that people of the free societies understood that they have to act to protect their freedom and our way of life – we’re fighting barbarians, Israel is at the front line of this battle against barbarism – America under President Trump has entered this fight to protect our civilization and to protect our common future.”
