America has sent their first wave of US military personnel to Nigeria, where they are helping to set up infrastructure and security arrangements with the Nigerian forces, according to reports from the New York Times.
US Personnel are also overseeing the delivery of ammunition and equipment to the Nigerian Army, which includes munitions for the Nigerian Air Force.
Troops will be deployed to the northern states affected by Jihadist groups such as Boko Haram, as well as parts of the Middle Belt region, where violence has been particularly severe.
The United States Military has limited the deployment to training, advisory support, and intelligence assistance at various locations.
