Winter’s early darkness was just setting over Sumy on Sunday night when the Russians struck a scheduled minibus travelling on the Sumy-Bilopillya highway, killing one person and injuring 13 others, reported local authorities.
Head of the OVA Oleg Hryhorov stated that among the wounded was at least two children aged 15 and 8, and others were in a serious condition in hospital, clarifying that the drone hit the minibus as it headed towards Sumy in the Mykolaiv rural community, causing the bus to burn down.
Hryhorov later clarified that the bus was driving on a restricted section of highway when the drone attacked the bus, having been previously designated a high-risk zone because of repeated attacks by drones.
“A route scheme for passenger transport to bypass dangerous roads has been developed and approved,” said Hryhorov, adding that: “Alternative, safer routes have been communicated to the carriers.”
