Emergency power outages have been introduced in the region of Ivano-Frankivsk as a result of a Russian strike on critical energy infrastructure, reported Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Military Administration Svitlana Onyshchuk.
“At dawn, the enemy launched a massive strike on a critical infrastructure facility in Prykarpattia. Air defences were active. Currently, there is no information about casualties. Two households are known to have sustained minor damage. Due to the massive attack, emergency power outages have been implemented.”
According to Onyshchuk, all the relevant services are engaged in eliminating the consequences.
Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv added on social media that “everything is calm in the community,” stating that there wasn’t any damage, but water supply and heating were interrupted, so hourly outages were possible.
Russian channels reported that Kalibr cruise missiles hit the Burshtyn Thermal Power Plant which caused the power outages in the region, as well as an attack with KH101’s on the Kalush coal-fired power plant.
