Residents of the Kharkiv region were given little rest on October 26 as drones, artillery and FAB bombs rained down on communities from Russian troops, damaging civil and critical infrastructure, taking lives and injuring others.
Russia’s attacks began with at least four FAB glide bombs hitting at around 08:45 outside Starovirivka in the Shevchenkivska community, according to Head of the District Administration Andriy Kanashevych, who didn’t update any further information about damage or casualties from the site.
Russia attacked the Podoly district of Kupiansk with heavy artillery at around 10:00, added Kanashevych, giving his condolences to a 57-year-old woman who had sadly died when a house caught fire as a result of the hit.
Around the same time, Russia also struck the villages of Tyschenivka and Osynove, resulting in two 61-year-old men being injured and admitted to Hospital, updated Kanashevych.
Regional Prosecutor’s reported an attack at around 11:30 in the village of Osynove involving heavy artillery that wounded a 60-year-old man, while also noting damage to warehouses and company property in Blahodativka.
Drone alerts continued to ring out around the region all morning, and it wasn’t long before Mayor Ihor Terekhov had taken to Telegram to report a drone strike being karried out on Kharkiv City at around 12:30, later updating that the drone struck an industrial zone in the Slobidsky district, but there was no information about casualties or damage.
At approximately 13:00 the Russian forces struck Odnorobivka with a drone, according to Head of the Zolochiv community Victor Kovalenko, adding that the drone hit a two-story apartment building causing damage to the roof, windows, doors, and power networks, but fortunately there wasn’t any casualties.
Russia then struck the Lobanivka village in the Derhachi community at 14:00, according to head of the community Vyacheslev Zadorenko, reporting that a fire broke out in the territory of a yard due to a hit, but no people were injured, and the type of drone was still being determined.
Continuing with attacks, Russia struck with three KABs in an open area between the villages of Petrivka and Hresi at around 15:30, reported head of the Zolochiv community Victor Kovalenko, adding that there was no data received about casualties or damage.
Around 16:30, a Russian FPV drone struck the Novobavarsky district of Kharkiv, reported Mayor Terekov, adding that a restaurant on the outskirts of the city suffered broken windows and damage, but there was no information about casualties.
Although there were little overnight attacks due to the Moscow incursion with Ukrainian drones, Russia picked up their aggression this morning around 06:00, with at least six hits recorded on the town of Kozacha Lopan, according to had of the Dergachivska Military-Administrative District Vyacheslav Zadorenko, adding that a multi-apartment building was damaged due to the strikes.
